Workshop Overview:
Join me for a magical musical journey, where the rippling of the sound waves and the power of the tides come together in harmony! The Sound of the Sea is a unique harp ensemble workshop. Whether you’re looking to improve your technique or explore the beauty of ensemble playing, this workshop offers an enriching experience to deepen your musical skills and connect with other harpists in a supportive, collaborative and peaceful environment.

Date: Sunday, 18.05.2025
Time and schedule:
10:30-12:30 Workshop for small harp repertoire (playable on harps from 26 strings on)
13:30-15:30 Workshop for lever harp repertoire. (playable on harps from 34 strings) You can join both workshops with lever harps from 34 strings on. For the second Workshop at least 34 strings are necessary.
16:30-17:30 Concert: Kristine Warmhold
Location: De zingende Snaar, Kon. Elisabethplantsoen 5a, 3911 KT Rhenen, Niederlande
Cost: 30 € one workshop, 50 € both workshops, concert free entrance for participants, 15 € for others
Target Audience:
This workshop is ideal for harpists with at least basic playing experience (late beginner level) and early intermediate players (1-3 years of experience). You should be able to find and name all strings on your harp. You should feel comfortable playing chords in the left hand and playing a melody in the right hand. You should be able to read sheetmusic at least slowly, recognising the notes. You don’t have to be able to sightread sheetmusic fluently!

What You’ll Learn:
Ensemble Techniques:
Learn the art of playing in an ensemble, focusing on listening, timing, and blending your sound with others. Discover how to build musical harmony as part of a group, while still expressing your unique part.
Harp Skills for Ensemble Playing:
Explore harp-specific techniques for ensemble performance, including how to manage dynamics, phrasing, and articulation in a group setting. Improve your ability to follow a conductor or group leader, and gain confidence in playing with others.
Repertoire for Harp Ensemble:
Dive into a selection of pieces and exercises specially chosen to enhance ensemble playing- these will help you develop your playing while expanding your musical repertoire.
Musical Flow and Communication:
Understand how music flows like the tides—constantly moving, with moments of calm and intensity. Practice connecting with other harpists, creating a unique sound, and communicating through music-like the waves in the ocean.


What to Bring:
Your harp tuning key snd tuner or tuner app, your bench.
Limited range of rental harps available in De zingende Snaar. Please contact the shop for more information!
A notebook for taking notes and a pencil for marking music. Or your tablet if you prefer.

Your own lunch for the break, tea and coffe is available in the shop
